Watch: Shahid Kapoor Displays His Fine Batting Skills As He Plays Cricket; Recalls Being On Sets Of ‘Jersey’
Shahid Kapoor recalled the time he spent on the sets of his upcoming film 'Jersey' while sharing a new video on Instagram.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen as a cricketer in ‘Jersey’, recently played cricket during his free time. The ‘Padmaavat’ star recalled his memories of being on the sets of ‘Jersey’ as he shared a video from the match on social media.
Shahid can be seen hitting a shot in the video like a professional. The ‘Kabir Singh’ actor underwent intense training to prepare for his role in the upcoming sports drama. He posted the clip on his official Instagram handle along with the caption, “Played some cricket after almost a year of being on #jersey sets.” Kapoor added the hashtag #MajorMissing while sharing the video.
‘Jersey’ is the Hindi remake of a Telugu film of the same name. Gowtam Tinnanuri, who helmed the original, is directing the new movie starring Shahid in a lead role. The cast and crew commenced shooting for the much-awaited flick in December 2019.

While Shahid is playing the role of a cricketer, Mrunal Thakur will be seen as the female lead in the movie. Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur is also essaying a pivotal role in ‘Jersey’’.
Interestingly, the father-son duo earlier worked in ‘Mausam’, which also starred Sonam Kapoor.
Talking about ‘Jersey’, the movie is slated to hit the silver screens on November 5, 2021. If things as planned, it will clash with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Prithviraj’ at the box office. Trade pundits are expecting ‘Jersey’ to set the cash registers jingling as the makers have promised to offer something new to the audience.
Shahid Kapoor’s Digital Debut
The ‘Haider’ star, known for his acting prowess, will foray into the OTT space with a new series, which is being helmed by Raj & DK of ‘The Family Man’ fame. The drama thrillers also stars Raashi Khanna and Vijay Sethupathi.
Last week, Kapoor shared a video to announce that Vijay will be a part of his new web series. He wrote, "Waiting on set call me soon @rajanddk … can't wait to share the frame with @actorvijaysethupathi sorry @raashiikhanna I’ve got too used to having you around on set."
