Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ has passed the Monday test and collected Rs 7.03 crore on its fourth day, bringing the total to Rs 52.92 crore.

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ has passed the Monday test and collected Rs 7.03 crore on its fourth day, bringing the total to Rs 52.92 crore at the domestic box office in the first four days of its release. The film has minted Rs 100 crore worldwide.

The family entertainer, directed by Johar in his 25th anniversary year, also features cinema veterans Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan. The film marks Karan Johar’s return to direction after seven years.

Johar's banner Dharma Productions shared the film's latest collection on its official social media pages.

"This kahaani of the Randhawas & Chatterjees is filling the box office with entertainment and love!" the production company posted on Twitter.

The production house also shared the worldwide gross collection of the film. “Only prem from all sides as inki prem kahaani ho rahi hai famous WORLDWIDE! 100 CRORE at the global box office - sacch mein, 'love hai toh sab hai!',” read the tweet.

According to the banner, the movie earned Rs 7.03 crore on Monday, bringing up total earnings from Rs 45.90 crore to Rs 52.92 crore. It had collected Rs 11.1 crore on the first day of release and Rs 16.05 crore on the second and Rs 19 crore on the third day.

‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ follows the love story of Rani (played by Alia) and Rocky (Ranveer Singh) who belong to contrasting backgrounds and cultures.

Writer Ishita Moitra believes the film is all about "falling in love with the differences" between people. "It is about celebrating your differences, it's a shout-out to inclusivity. There are many reasons why we hate someone or judge others, but it's about rising above those differences, accepting each other, and living with love. We were playing with the same stereotypes. In the film, no one is perfect. Like, this (culture) is a stereotype but when you invert it, you dig deep, you fall in love with the differences... Eventually, they stand for each other, they rise above those (things). Everybody understands there's no perfect community, perfect person or perfect love. You have to first make the stereotypes to break them," Moitra, also belongs to a Bengali household, told PTI in an interview.
