Rhea Chakraborty's 'Uncle' Passes Away Due To COVID-19, Shares Heartfelt Tribute: 'You Are A Real Life Hero'

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty penned a heartfelt post to mourn the demise of her 'uncle' Col S Suresh Kumar VSM, who passed away due to COVID-19 complications on May 1, 2021. He was 52. The 'Jalebi' actress shared more details about the retired army officer in her post. She revealed that Colonel Suresh was a renowned orthopaedic surgeon, who served the country for many years.
The actress called him a 'real life hero' and said that his legacy will remain forever. She wrote, "Col S Suresh Kumar VSM (Retd) 10.11.1968- 1.5.2021
A renowned orthopaedic surgeon , a decorated officer , a loving father and a wonderful human being. Covid took you away , but your legacy continues. Suresh Uncle,you’re a real life Hero! I salute you sir. RIP. I urge you all to please be home and stay safe , Covid doesn’t see good or bad."

Rhea's father rtd. Lieutenant Colonel Indrajit Chakraborty served as a doctor in the army for over 20 years. Her post suggested that she and her dad shared a close bond with late Col Suresh.
Chakraborty urged her followers to stay home as a precautionary measure against COVID-19. She stressed on the importance of not stepping out amid the Coronavirus crisis in the country and asked her fans to stay safe. Check out her post!
Rhea has been actively sharing verified COVID-19 resources to help the needy people. She even opened up her Instagram DMs to provide assistance to the people, who have been affected by the pandemic.
Rhea Chakraborty remained in headlines throughout the second half of 2020 after Sushant Singh Rajput's father filed an FIR against her and family members, accusing them of abetment to suicide. The Narcotics Control Bureau, which is investigating the drugs angle in SSR's death case, arrested Rhea and her brother under the NDPS Act in a case linked to the actor's demise.
The Bombay High Court granted bail to the 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' actress in October 2020 on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. She walked out of Byculla jail after staying behind the bars for close to a month. Her brother Showik Chakraborty received bail on December 2020.
On the professional front, Rhea will be next seen in 'Chehre'. The film co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi was slated to hit the silver screens in April 2021; however, the makers postponed the release due to the COVID-19 crisis.
