After Starring In Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, Bobby Deol Turns Villain For Alia Bhatt Starrer Spy Movie

Bobby Deol is gearing up to play an antagonist in Alia Bhatt's next Yash Raj Films spy movie.

New Delhi: For Alia Bhatt's next Yash Raj Films spy movie, Bobby Deol, who made waves with his terrifying role as Abrar Haque in 'Animal', is getting ready to play an antagonist again.

“Bobby Deol’s inclusion to the YRF Spy Universe is an incredible casting coup by Aditya Chopra! Bobby will become a cold-blooded, menacing villain set to destroy Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in this action spectacle that will blow the minds of audiences,” said a source.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' also stars Triptii Dimri, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna alongside Ranbir Kapoor, who play the lead role. Bobby Doel emerged as a star, taking the limelight away from Ranbir. Aside from receiving glowing reviews from critics, his portrayal in 'Animal' has drawn attention away from the main plot and towards his commanding on-screen presence.

YRF next spy film

Earlier, at FICCI Frames, CEO of Yash Raj Films Akshaye Widhani officially confirmed the much-discussed news that Alia Bhatt will be joining the highly anticipated film YRF Spy Universe.

When pressed for more details about the YRF Spy Universe, Widhani shared, "I'll share the worst-kept secret in the industry, which is, Alia Bhatt is headlining a Spy Universe film, and that the schedule starts later this year. But you know, talking about this spy universe, we are actually just so thrilled and excited about having this IP in the studio."

Alia portrays a super-agent in the upcoming film, which is not yet named and is helmed by Shiv Rawail. Rawail has previously helmed 'The Railway Men'. Sharvari, who plays an agent on a mission alongside Alia, also features in the movie.

After 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'War', 'Pathaan', 'Tiger 3', and 'War 2', the as-yet-untitled movie will be the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe. It is expected that the movie will begin production later this year.
