National Award winning filmmaker Vinod Kapri to direct Siddharth Roy Kapur's film based on Vijendra Singh Rathore’s heroic tale!

The director of social-political satire 'Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho', the film which was inspired by true incident in Rajasthan is all set to do another real life story based film and it is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur. The film is about based on the true story of a man from Alwar who found his wife after one year and seven months long search after the Uttarakhand flash floods in June, 2013. After losing his wife Leela in the floods, her 45 yr old husband Vijendra Singh Rathore went across almost 1000 villages fighting against all odds and adversities for a year and a half looking for her. Far way from home and their five children, Vijendra Singh found Leela in a remote village in the Himalayas on January 27, 2015 alive but too traumatized to speak or recall her past. Now producer Siddharth Roy Kapur has acquired the rights to produce a film based on Vijendra’s story and the national award winning director Vinod Kapri will direct it. “Siddharth was incredibly moved by Vijendra’s conviction and strength of character. He felt that this awe-inspiring story of love and the resilience of the human spirit had to be told cinematically. The film will be helmed by director Vinod Kapri,” A source told HT.
