New Delhi: Soon after her marriage with her long-time boyfriend Sam Bombay, model and actress Poonam Pandey filed a complaint against her husband alleging him of molesting, threatening and abusing her. The couple got married on September 1, 2020, in a private ceremony in the presence of close friends and family because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a report of PTI, her husband has been reportedly arrested in Canacona village in South Goa where the actress is currently shooting for a film. Inspector Tukaram Chavan of Canacona police station revealed in a statement, “Pandey filed a complaint late Monday night claiming her husband Sam Bombay had molested her, and threatened her with dire consequences after assaulting her. He was arrested.”
The official further added that the victim has been subjected to mandatory medical tests.
Beginning her career with modelling, the ‘Malini & Co.’ actress was also one of the top nine contestants of the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest. Poonam Pandey became popular when she started posting semi-nude photos on her social media accounts including Twitter. She became the talk of the town when she promised in 2011 that she will strip naked for the Indian Cricket Team if they bring home World Cup. Though India indeed lifted the World Cup, she could not strip as she claimed that she was denied permission by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Poonam Pandey made her Bollywood debut with the 2013 movie ‘Nasha’ as the female lead where she portrayed the role of a teacher who ends up having a sexual relationship with one of her students. The poster of her film where the actress can be seen wearing nothing but two placards tactically placed to cover her body raised a lot of eyebrows. People got furious and a group of protestors set the poster on fire after tearing them to pieces back then.
