Media Mogul & 'Fiza' Producer Pradeep Guha Passes Away Due To Cancer, B-Town Celebs Mourn His Death

Pradeep Guha, who was battling liver cancer (four stage), died on Saturday at a Mumbai hospital. Subash Ghai, Manoj Bajpayee and other Bollywood celebs mourned his demise.

Mumbai: Media mogul and film producer Pradeep Guha passed away on Saturday (August 21) at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani hospital. He was diagnosed with liver cancer. Several Bollywood celebs including Manoj Bajpayee and Subhash Ghai mourned Guha’s death on social media. 

Manoj Bajpayee, who was recently seen in 'Dial 100', expressed his grief on Twitter. "Deeply shocked and saddened to hear about my friend 
@guhapradeep‘s passing away !! May you rest in peace Pradeep," he wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Veteran filmmaker Subash Ghai got emotional while penning a post for Pradeep Guha. He wrote, “Good bye my friend #Pradeep Guha. I will always be indebted for your genuine love n support to I needed n we all ⁦@Whistling_Woods international 4 your enriched guidance as a director on board since its birth. U were the makers of many in our industry. RIP MY FRIEND.” 

Priyanka Chopra Mourns Pradeep Guha's Death

The 'Quantico' star penned an emotional note on Instagram to offer her condolence. She wrote, "You were always my forever champion. Your random calls of encouragement, your zest for life and your ambition was something I have always admired so much. This loss is so personal. I will miss your voice and strength so much. I’ve had very few constants in my life and outside my parents, you were one that I truly saw as my mentor. You saw something in me I never knew I had. You never shied away from reminding me on how I could be better. You always lead with charge."

"This video above, is part of an interview he did around the release of my memoir, in which he features prominently. As always, his words were an encouragement and an affirmation, something I knew I could always count on. I’ve learned so much from you PG. With such a heavy heart I say a final goodbye to a huge constant in my adult life. I’ll miss the laughter, the gossiping, the stories, the encouragement. Will keep striving to make you proud. Picture abhi baaki hai," Priyanka added.

Who Was Pradeep Guha?

Pradeep Guha, who was the managing director of 9X media, worked in several organisations like Times Of India and Zee Network. The media icon also produced Hrithik Roshan and Karisma Kapoor starrer 'Fiza' and Mithun-Dimple Kapadia's 'Phir Kabhi'.

After working with the Times Of India for three decades, he took over as CEO of Zee Telefilms in 2005. Later, he joined 9X Media as Managing Director. 

Guha’s family was also consulting reputed Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital in New York for the last few months for his treatment. He was admitted to the hospital as his health was deteriorating since the past few days. He is survived by his wife and son.
