Sam Manekshaw’s Story 'Found Its Name'! Vicky Kaushal Starrer Biopic Gets A Title
Today, on the occasion of Sam Manekshaw's 107th birthday, Meghna Gulzar announced the title of the upcoming biopic starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.
New Delhi: Sam Manekshaw’s biopics is one of the most-awaited movies. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, this biopic is based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal. Today, on the occasion of his 107th birthday, Meghna Gulzar announced the title of this upcoming biopic.
Meghna took to her official Instagram account and announced the title of Sam Manekshaw’s biopic. The biopic has been titled ‘Sam Bahadur’.

While sharing, she wrote, “The man. The legend. The brave heart. Our Samबहादुर...On the birth anniversary of Field Marshal #SamManekshaw, his story has found its name. #SamBahadur”.
Vicky Kaushal also shared the post on his Instagram. The makers made the title announcement with a short video. Take a look at it here.
Vicky Kaushal, who will be seen portraying the titular role in ‘Sam Bahadur’, said in a statement, “I had always heard stories about Sam Bahadur from my parents, who hail from Punjab and have seen the 1971 war, but when I read the script I was completely blown away. He is a hero and patriot who is still remembered and loved to this day, and capturing his spirit in the film is of the highest importance to me.”
Meghna Gulzar also expressed her happiness and said, “He was a soldier's soldier and a gentleman's gentleman. They don't make men like Sam Bahadur anymore. I'm so honoured to be telling his story with Ronnie Screwvala and the incredibly talented Vicky Kaushal. On the Field Marshal’s birth anniversary, his story has got its name. I couldn’t be happier.”
Meanwhile, other than ‘Sam Bahadur’, Vicky Kaushal will also be seen starring in ‘Sardar Udham Singh’, ‘Mr Lele’ and ‘The Great Indian Family’.
