Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi opened to a good start at the box office, making it the lead actor's biggest opener till date. The romantic-comedy that explores live in relationships has opened to 8.01 crores, beating films like Raazi, Badhaai Ho, and lead actor Kartik’s own Sonu ke Titu ki sweety record on day 1. Luka Chuppi, received rave reviews from film critics across the country upon its release on March 1. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest figures of the movie with a tweet that read, “#LukaChuppi has superb Day 1… Springs a big, big surprise… Opens bigger than #Raazi [₹ 7.53 cr], #Stree [₹ 6.83 cr] and #BadhaaiHo [₹ 7.29 cr]… Strong word of mouth should ensure impressive growth on Day 2 and 3… Fri ₹ 8.01 cr. India biz.” Sharing that the film is Kartik Aaryan’s biggest opener, Adarsh also tweeted: “#LukaChuppi is Kartik Aaryan’s biggest opener… Opening day biz: 2019: #LukaChuppi ₹ 8.01 cr 2015: #PyaarKaPunchnama2 ₹ 6.80 cr 2018: #SonuKeTituKiSweety ₹ 6.42 cr 2011: #PyaarKaPunchnama – which shot Kartik to fame – had collected ₹ 92 lakhs on Day 1. India biz.” Luka Chuppi, which released alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar’s Sonchiriya, is being pegged as a winner among the two, as far as the first box office weekend is concerned. Apart from Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan, the movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Vinay Pathak and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles. The film promises to hold strong this weekend and will be boosted on Monday due to a partial holiday.
