Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika & Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’ might NOT CLASH at box office; Here's why

Films releasing on same day and clashing at the box office is not a rare thing in Bollywood, with the latest example being Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ and John Abraham’s ‘Satyameva Jayate’. The two films released on August 15 and have managed to set the cash registers jingling. The producers of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ had earlier announced that the film will hit the silver screens on Janaury 25, 2019, thus clashing with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’. The two actors were all set to lock horns at the box office but as per the latest buzz, the clash might het averted. Interestingly, Emraan Hashmi’s 'Cheat India' and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s 'Thackrey' are also slated to release on the same day as Manikarnika. The makers of all these films wish to take full advantage of the Republic Day weekend. A report in a leading daily suggested that the makers of ‘Super 30’ have decided to prepone the release date by a week and now the film might release on January 18, 2019. "Since the makers are keen on a solo release, they have decided to advance the release by a week,’’ a source close to the film told Mid-Day. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika & Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’ might NOT CLASH at box office; Here's why Quoting trade analyst Amod Mehra, the report added the decision may work quite well in Hrithik’s favour as his earlier film ‘Kaabil’ would have fared quite well if it didn’t clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’. "A three-way clash is not feasible as the films eat into each other's profits. Hrtihik's last release Kaabil (2017) would have done much better had it not clashed with Raees. Also, since Super 30 is a biopic, it will take a while for the film to penetrate the single-screen markets," Mehra told the daily. Talking about ‘Super 30’, the film is being directed by ‘Queen’ fame Vikas Bahl. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ actress Mrunal Thakur is also part of the film based on life of Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30 program. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’ has been hogging all the limelight for not so good reasons. The film was recently in news owing to the clapboard controversy where rumours of fallout between the ‘Mental Hai Kya’ actress and director Krish were rife. The epic drama has landed into another controversy after Sonu Sood walked out citing differences with Kangana. The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress confirmed Sonu’s exit from the film and said that he refused to work under a woman director, further escalating the entire controversy.
