Confirmed: Kangana Ranaut To Play Titular Role In 'The Incarnation-Sita'

Kangana Ranaut will be seen playing the role of Goddess Sita in 'The Incarnation-Sita'. The makers have finally shared an update about the film.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, known for her acting prowess, will play the titular role in ‘The Incarnation-Sita'. The epic period drama, which will be directed by Alaukik Desai, will focus on the life of Goddess Sita. The producers issued a statement to confirm that the ‘Panga’ actress will essay the lead role in the upcoming film.

It's time we stepped in to celebrate equality in every respect," Saloni Sharma from SS Studio said in a statement.  

Kangana Glad To Be Part Of 'The Incarnation-Sita'

The 'Queen' star shared a post on Instagram to express her happiness on bagging the lead in the film. "The Incarnation- Sita- Glad to be on board for the title role with this immensely talented team of artists. With the blessings of Sita Ram …Jai SiyaRam." her post read.

The upcoming film will release in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. 

While gossip mills suggested that the makers wanted to cast Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film’s writer K Vijayendra Prasad told SpotboyE that she was never approached for the project. Speculations were rife that Bebo demanded Rs 12 crore to play the role in the film. Netizens had expressed their displeasure on social media after the rumour spread like wildfire on the internet. 

 Kangana Ranaut’s Upcoming Films 

The National Award-winning actress is on a roll these days as she is shooting for her projects. Her recent film ‘Thalaivii’ hit the silver screens on September 10. The biographical drama, which is based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, has received rave reviews from the critics. Despite the critical acclaim, the film has not been able to create ripples at the box office.  

Kangana has several exciting movies in her films including ‘Dhaakad’, ‘Tejas’ and ‘Manikarnika Returns’. She will be seen in the role of a spy in ‘Dhaakad’, which also stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta. The makers of 'Dhaakad' had earlier announced that the flick would release on October 1. However, the movie is expected to get delayed.
