Bollywood actress Jiah Khan's death case has been transferred to a special CBI Court.
Mumbai: In a major development in Bollywood actress Jiah Khan’s death case, which has been pending since the last eight years, a special CBI court will now hear the matter. The sessions court, which was conducting a trial against Sooraj Pancholi on the charges of alleged abetment, has said that the case should be transferred to a special CBI Court, a report in ANI said.
Jiah, who made her Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Nishabd’, was found dead at her Mumbai residence. Although her death was deemed a suicide in 2013, her mother Rabia Khan levelled serious allegations against her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi.

Jiah Khan’s death case has been unsettled since the past eight years. A Mumbai Court had charged Sooraj with abetting her suicide on January 31, 2018.
Rabia, while talking to a leading daily, welcomed sessions court’s decision to transfer the case to special CBI Court. She said that her family members expect ‘applaudable answers’ as Jiah couldn’t commit suicide. Calling it a 'wise decision', she added that 'innocent Jiah had not fault'.
“The innocent Jiah had no fault. A wise decision by the court now. CBI will retrieve evidence from Maharashtra police after nine years. CBI has Scarman's report, experts forensic report, they need to send evidence to forensics to analyse whether the ligature could imprint just injuries on Jiah. We expect applaudable answers to the truth because Jiah would never take her life, and she was killed beyond a reasonable doubt,” Rabia told Times Of India.
On the professional front, Jiah was also seen in films like ‘Housefull’ and ‘Ghajini’. Tinsel town celebs like Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone attended Jiah’s memorial, which was held in Mumbai’s Vile Parle Medical Club.
