Jawan Box Office Collection Day 5: Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Becomes Third Hindi Movie To Gross More Than Rs 300 Crore In 2023

SRK's 'Jawan' broke the record for the quickest Hindi film to earn Rs 500 crores worldwide.

New Delhi: Five days after its release, Shah Rukh Khan's movie 'Jawan' has surpassed the Rs 300 crore club at the domestic box office. Both audiences and critics responded favourably to the Atlee-directed movie when it first premiered in theatres. According to Sacnilk.com, the action-thriller is the third Hindi movie to gross more than Rs 300 crore in India this year.

According to early estimates, 'Jawan' made Rs 30 crore net in India on its fifth day for all languages, reports Sacnilk.com. The action flick earned Rs 75 crore (Hindi Rs 65.5 crore, Tamil Rs 5.5 crore and Telugu Rs 4 crore) on day one. On day two,  it grossed Rs 53.23 crore (Hindi Rs 46.23 crore, Tamil Rs 3.87 crore, Telugu Rs 3.13 crore). On day three, it earned Rs 77.83 crore (Hindi Rs 68.72 crore, Tamil Rs 5.34 crore, Telugu Rs 3.77 crore) and Rs 80.1 crore (Hindi Rs 71.63 crore; Tamil Rs 5 crore; Telugu Rs 3.47 crore) on day four. The movie has so far earned Rs 316.16 crore in India.

Meanwhile, SRK's 'Jawan' broke the record for the quickest Hindi film to earn Rs 500 crores worldwide. The movie completed this feat in just four days.

The film review on ABP Live reads: Atlee, who has also written 'Jawan', writes a formidable screenplay and manages to execute it. Despite the awe in action, dance, drama, and a surprise element every 20 minutes into 'Jawan', one does tire out towards the latter half of the film. The edit in that case and the screenplay could have compromised many extra minutes on star power, songs, and shots of SRK smoking a cigar. That also reminds me of Shah Rukh Khan lighting his cigar with the spark of his boots as a precursor to one of the greatest action sequences of all time in Indian cinematic history.

Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi play the main characters in the movie. Sanjay Dutt and Deepika Padukone both make cameos in it. Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, and Sunil Grover are also featured in the movie.
