Jacqueline Fernandez-Starrer Tell It Like A Woman Bags Oscar Nomination, Actor Calls The Film 'Magical'

Jacqueline Fernandez, who also appears in the movie, recently expressed her joy about the song's nomination.

New Delhi: India now has several reasons to rejoice in the arrival of the Oscars 2023. While 'Naatu Naatu' garnered attention for its Oscar nomination, another song, 'Applause', from the movie 'Tell it Like a Woman', is up against the global hit in the Best Original Song category.

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez, who also appears in the movie, recently expressed her joy about the song's nomination. She congratulated her fellow competitors on social media and shared her excitement.

"Beyond words right now. Congratulations to @dianewarren @sofiacarson for the Oscar nomination for 'Applause' and making us all proud! It was an honour to be associated with this beautiful film 'Tell It Like a Woman' alongside such esteemed artists! Also big congratulations to Team 'RRR' for 'Naatu Naatu' nomination!!! While speaking of the film and her experience of being part of the project, Fernandez said,"I am so proud of the entire team of 'Tell It Like A Woman' and especially Dianne and Sofia who created such magical music with 'Applause'. The whole experience of doing this film was just as magical for me."

"Being associated with this Oscar nomination is just so special, I cannot express it because it is very overwhelming and I wish the best to the whole team for the Academy Awards," she added.

The other songs up for nomination, in addition to 'Tell it Like a Woman's 'Applause' and 'Naatu Naatu' of 'RRR', are 'This Is A Life' of 'EEAAO', 'Hold My Hand' of 'Top Gun: Maverick', and 'Lift Me Up' of 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'. 

Meanwhile, singer Diane Warren, who has received 13 Oscar nominations, wrote the song 'Applause'. Eight female directors from all across the world contributed to the anthology 'Tell it Like a Woman'. Margherita Buy, Eva Longoria, Cara Delevingne, Anne Watanabe, Jennifer Hudson, Marcia Gay Harden, and Jacqueline Fernandez are in the ensemble cast members of the movie.
