India-China Standoff: Kangana Ranaut Asks Fans To Become 'Atmanirbhar' And Boycott Chinese Goods

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has shown her support in boycotting the Chinese goods in India.

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is widely known for her straightforward and bold statements against issues in society, has recently, voiced her opinion over the on-going Indo-China border issue. The 'Tanu Weds Manu' actress came forward in solidarity with the Indian government and showed her support in boycotting the Chinese goods in India.

In a two-minute long video released by Kangana, the 'Queen' actress spoke about the pain the families of martyred soldier are going through post the Ganwan valley clash off.

Captioning the video as - "We have to stand together, unite, and collectively fight this war against China!", Kangana urged her fans to boycott Chinese goods in India and support the government in its "war".

"Did we forget when Mahatma Gandhi had asked people to boycott British goods to end their rule in the country? Isn't it necessary that we take part in the war too because Ladakh is not just a piece of land, it is a very essential part of India," she said.

This comes at the backdrop of violent face-off which broke out between the two countries in Galwan valley area leaving 20 Indian soldiers killed. The scuffle led to pan-India protests against China triggering an anti-China sentiment among Indian and calling for a boycott of Chinese products in the country.

Earlier, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) general secretary Praveen Khandelwal had reportedly called for the boycott of 3000 Chinese products. While speaking to ABP News, Khandelwal said that Indian brave hearts fought with courage for the sake of Indians. "If our brave soldiers can fight on the border, even 7 crore Indian traders can also break China’s strength."

We have alternatives for these 3000 products right here in India. If we can boycott these products then by December 2021, we can create a loss of Rs 1 lakh crore to China, he said.
