New Delhi: Hrithik Roshan made a big impression by winning Best Actor award for his portrayal of Vedha in the action movie 'Vikram Vedha' at the most recent IIFA Awards on Saturday. The actor won praise for his portrayal of a cunning and ruthless character.

Hrithik said in his acceptance speech, "I have lived with Vedha for many years now. It began right here in Abu Dhabi. I gave my first shot as Vedha here ... it feels like life has come full circle to me. Vedha helped me unleash the madness inside me ... Thank you universe and thank you Vedha for helping me discover that madness and helping me discover the strength to hold that madness."

When 'Vikram Vedha' premiered on OTT, viewers got a taste of the actor's outstanding performance once again. The movie is an official adaptation of a Tamil film of the same name, which starred R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the major roles. In 'Vikram Vedha', a fierce officer named Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) sets out to track down and chase a notorious bandit named Vedha (Hrithik Roshan).

Meanwhile, the award for Best Film went to Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam 2', and for Best Director, R. Madhavan's 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'.
