I Will Always Be By Your Side: Park Bo-Gum’s Classmate Thanks Actor For Defending Him From Bullies
The anonymous writer said that he had experienced bullying at school and was seen as outcast.
New Delhi: An old classmate of South Korean star Park Bo-gum posted a letter on social media in which he stated that the actor had backed him during his trying times as a victim of bullying. In his letter, the person—who wished to remain unnamed—said that he had experienced bullying at school and was seen as outcast.
Bullying in South Korean schools is a known issue that has even been covered in a number of popular k-dramas. In shows such as 'All of Us Are Dead', 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty', and 'True Beauty', makers have highlighted what students go through.
“I was in the same class as you (Park Bo-gum) at Mok Dong Middle School. At the time, I was the class outcast and was bullied openly, but you were the only one that became my friend. I still remember because I was really thankful,” the person wrote in the letter.
"I remember how in High School we crossed paths, and you recognized me. I was so thankful you had recognized someone like me. When you became an actor, I was so happy,” it further read.
Bo-gum's old classmate also made a promise to the actor and said that he will always be on his side.
“Just as how you were the only student who didn’t bully me, even if the whole world is against you, I will always be on your side. I can’t forget the time you shared your umbrella with me at the Central Plaza when it rained,” the letter concluded.
On social media, Park Bo-gum's kindness was highly praised by his fans. A few Korean artists, meanwhile, have already faced criticism for alleged bullying.
Park Bo-gum, one of South Korea's most popular actors, has appeared in a number of k-dramas, such as 'Record of Youth', 'Love in the Moonlight', and 'Encounter'.
