‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ screenplay to be part of Oscars library!

The film narrates the journey of acceptance by the family and revolves around the story of a girl named Sweety, played by Sonam Kapoor, who is in love with another girl.

New Delhi: ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’, which features father-daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor sharing screen space for the first time, opened to much-critical acclaim and has now achieved another remarkable feat. The film, that also stars Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla, has won hearts even outside India owing to its concept. The film’s screenplay will become a part of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Library. ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ screenplay to be part of Oscars library! Sonam Kapoor is a self-made star, says father Anil Kapoor The materials in the Core Collection are made available for study only in reading room. The Academy’s library prohibits any copying and circulation of the scripts. The libray is open to all students, filmmakers and writers as well as those with general interests. Previously, the copies of ‘Broken Horses’ and ‘Sanju’ have been procured by The Academy’s library. Now, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ will also become a part of the collection, which is surely a great achievement for the cast and crew of the film. Helmed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, the film deals with the subject of homosexual love. The film narrates the journey of acceptance by the family and revolves around the story of a girl named Sweety, played by Sonam, who is in love with another girl. However, her family wants her to marry a man as they are not aware of her sexual preference. She meets a playwright, played by Rajkummar, who helps her in revealing her preference to her father played by Anil. The story of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ plays a major role in pushing the queer conversation forward in India. Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film released on February 1, 2019.
