New Delhi: Amid great fanfare, Dunki was released today, December 21. Fans made sure that the Shah Rukh Khan movie, which is the star's first project with director Rajkumar Hirani, is nothing less of a celebration when it released in India at Mumbai's renowned single screen theatre Gaiety Galaxy at 5:55 in the morning. Fans of Shah Rukh Khan have posted videos of the enormous gathering that included fireworks and dhol-tasha to celebrate the release of Dunki. At the location, a large cutout of Shah Rukh Khan was also spotted.
Keeping up the tradition of SRK films, the Dunki trailer was showcased on the Burj Khalifa. The moment witnessed the presence of over 1 lakh crowd of fans. The superstar was also seen dancing to the beats of Lutt Putt Gaya and O Maahi. The grand event also witnessed a mesmerizing drone show at Burj Khalifa. The drone show indeed lighted up the sky and created an enthralling experience for the viewers.
Kickstarting the promotional journey from Dubai, SRK took over the city with his charm. He visited VOX Cinemas Dubai where received a grand welcome from the people on the Dunki Day 1 promotions.
SRK also visited the Global Village and was seen spreading his charm. Adding to the excitement, the makers unveiled Dunki Diaries where SRK Rajkumar Hirani and Taapsee Pannu can be seen in a candid conversation amping up excitement a notch higher the audience witnessed some interesting stories about Dunki, while Rajkumar Hirani released the Banda song as his surprise for Hardy's character for SRK.
Dunki features an ensemble cast, with colorful characters portrayed by exceptionally talented actors Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, along with Shah Rukh Khan. Dunki Review: Shah Rukh Khan ‘Dunki’ To Open Lower Than Pathaan And Jawan
Shah Rukh Khan’s third film of the year ‘Dunki’ is not expected to perform as much as the superstar’s earlier two films ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ which earned over Rs 1,000 crore each at the worldwide box office.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dunki will earn around Rs 30 crore on Thursday, as per early estimates. In the morning shows, the film had an occupancy of 26.45% and the afternoon shows recorded an occupancy of 21.77 %. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial was released on a weekday and is expected to perform better on the weekend.
