Coronavirus: Shilpa Shetty & Rajkummar Rao Contribute To PM-CARES Fund To Combat COVID-19

Many popular celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Ram Charan , Varun Dhawan and Kapil Sharma too have donated to PM-CARES fund.

New Delhi: The novel Coronavirus outbreak is wreaking havoc globally. To combat COVID-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started a public charitable trust called ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Fund)’. Many popular celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Ram Charan , Varun Dhawan and Kapil Sharma have donated to PM-CARES fund. Now, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Rajkummar Rao have revealed that they too have contributed Shilpa Shetty, who recently welcomed baby girl Samisha via surrogacy, on Sunday announed that she has pledged to donate a sum of Rs 21 lakhs to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's PM-CARES Fund. The 'Dhadkan' actress took to her social media account and also urged people to do their bit to combat Coronavirus. She tweeted, "For humanity, our country, & fellow citizens that need us; now is the time, let’s do our bit. @TheRajKundra & I pledge 21 lacs to @narendramodi ji‘s PM-CARES Fund. Every drop in the ocean counts, so I urge you all to help fight this situation. #IndiaFightsCorona @PMOIndia" Take a look at her post below:
National-award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao also donated to PM's Relief Fund, CM's Relief Fund as well as Zomato Feeding India to aid the battle against COVID-19. Sharing the same on Twitter, he wrote, "It's time to stand together & to help our administration in this fight against Coronavirus. I've done my bit..Donated to #PMReliefFund #CMReliefFund and to #ZomatoFeedingIndia to help feed families in need. Please support in whatever way you can. Our Nation Needs Us. Jai Hind." Further Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee among others have also contributed their bit for the cause. Speaking about the Coronavirus outbreak, the total number of positive coronavirus cases in India rose to 1139 including 90 recoveries and 27 deaths. Keep watching this space for more updates!
