Bollywood Actor Jeetu Verma ATTACKED in Chittorgarh; right eye DAMAGED, could LOSE his eye!
Bollywood Actor Jeetu Verma, best known for his villainous role of 'Jojo' in Bobby Deol & Preity Zinta starrer 'Soldier', has been attacked in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Reportedly, the actor was travelling from Jaipur to Mount Abu by road and was attacked by some locals. The attack was so horrific that the car's windscreen broke down and damaged his right eye badly.

Jeetu was on his way to his home town in Jaipur to attend a function when the incident happened with him. Jeetu's elder brother Manohar Verma narrates the whole incident to a leading daily and said, "There is a 40-km patch of forest area near Chittorgarh, which is en route. It was broad daylight and Jeetu was sitting next to the driver in the front seat. Suddenly, some locals started pelting their car. The driver picked up speed but the stones kept coming. One hit the windshield and it cracked. Jeetu’s eye was hit and bleeding profusely even as the driver raced away."

The injured Jeetu was rushed from Jaipur, and, was brought to Mumbai. Now he has been admitted to Wadala hospital. He has been operated upon by the eye surgeon, Dr S Natrajan, who said that Jeetu suffered a fractured eyebrow, and, had lost retinal function. It is doubtful if his right eye will regain its sight or not.

Manohar Verma, the action director of films like Madras Café, Airlift, Neerja and Mirzya, further added that, "Meanwhile, the police assessed the vehicle and also recovered the stones that had cracked the glass and fallen into the car. But there needs to be more security. When such occurrences are happening in the region on a daily basis, it is important that stringent measures be taken immediately."

Few days back, another such incident took place in Rajashthan when 'Padmavati; director was attacked by the locales while he was shooting for the film. Speaking about the same Manohar told Mumbai Mirror that, "There was an attack on Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the same region recently (the National award-winning filmmaker was attacked by members of the Karni Sena on the sets of his upcoming historical-drama Padmavati in Jaipur), for very different reasons, but security forces and the police officers were still incompetent. Something needs to be done. Rajasthan cannot become this unsafe!"
