Days after the late actor was found dead at his Bandra apartment, KK Singh, Sushant's father registered an FIR in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant's alleged girlfriend, of abetment to suicide. Singh has accused Rhea of befriending his son in May 2019 to advance her own career. He also sought to invoke the provisions of the Mental Health Care Act, alleging that the "machinations" of Chakraborty and her family members had caused his son to "crack up", despite a successful career in films, and ultimately drove him to commit suicide. He also alleged a defraud of Rs 15 crore by Rhea and her family members.
A face-off between Bihar Police and Mumbai Police broke out after the complaint by Sushant's father. Cops in Bihar Police reached Mumbai to carry on the investigation further and insisted they would follow the money trail. Mumbai Police sources have, however, told that the family made no mention of suspicions of or allegations about Chakraborty and Rajput's finances when they first met top officers after the actor's death.

According to recent reports, Bihar Police has claimed that they are not getting any support from the Mumbai Police. The matter flared up after a video surfaced on social media where Mumbai Police can be seen taking the Bihar Police in a van.
Maharashtra Cabinet Minister of State Sambhuraj Desai also said that the Bihar police cannot investigate Sushant Singh Rajput's death case in Maharashtra without permission. He stressed that the Bihar Police will have to inform the Mumbai Police before carrying out any investigation in the actor's death case. In a recent statement, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also said that the Mumbai Police is not inefficient and appealed Sushant’s fans to trust the Mumbai Police and provide whatever information they have to them. However, the 'non-cooperation' of Mumbai Police is not going well with the political leaders of Bihar and they have been continuously raising questions on why the Maharashtra govt is not ready to transfer the case to CBI.Police ke Peeche Police ... pic.twitter.com/y4Zoj7RGIX

A Bihar cop told IANS that the Bihar Police team will continue to do its work in Mumbai, but it has faced many problems because it is not getting support from the Mumbai Police at all. He said, “Now whatever has to be done, we have to do it on our own. Sadly, we are not getting along with the Mumbai Police at all. It is very difficult to work.” 'A politician's son and his big director friend is involved in the case' Slamming the lack of cooperation among the two police forces and emphasizing that the actor's death involved foul play. In an interview to a leading news channel, Shehzad Poonawala made certain disclosures related to the Sushant's death. He said, " The reason Maharashtra government is not transferring the case to CBI is that the truth will destroy the three-wheeled government of Maha Vikas Aghadi. There was a party and it will disclose the deserving or undeserving face of the politician's son and there were 2 other actors with him at that party. The son needs to be protected as there are a lot of connection with that. If the name of the son and his friend, a big director, comes out it will destroy the government. I cannot disclose names but this is the real reason Mahasrahstra govt and Mumbai Police have ruled out the foul play and Anil Deshmukh has insisted on keeping the case with the Mumbai Police. " The Mumbai Police has so far questioned over 35 people in the case whereas the Bihar Police has quizzed the late actor's sister Mitu Singh and his former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande.Mumbai police is putting obstruction in way of fair investigation by Bihar police in Sushant death case.Bihar police is doing its best but Mumbai police is not co operating .Bjp feel that CBI shud take over this case.
