Mumbai: Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, who has mesmerized millions of fans with her voice, turned a year older on Wednesday (September 8). The ‘Queen of Music’ has managed to carve a niche for herself in the music industry. Known for her versatility, the 88-year-old has crooned some of the most popular numbers in Hindi cinema. 

On the occasion of her birthday, Shraddha Kapoor shared an adorable family photo to wish her ‘Asha Aaie’. The ‘Baaghi 3’ actress posted a snap wherein Asha and others can be seen smiling while posing for the camera. Shakti Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapure, Siddhanth Kapoor and other members of the famil featured in the picture.

“Happy birthday dearest Asha aaie,” the caption for the post read. Fans have flooded the comments section with their messages and wishes. Check out the photo!

For the uninitiated, Shraddha Kapoor is the great-niece of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. The ‘Street Dancer 3D’ star’s maternal grandfather Pandharinath Kolhapure was the nephew of Deenanath Mangeshkar, who was Lata and Asha’s father.  

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar shared a picture with her younger sister Asha on her official Instagram handle. She penned a heartfelt post for the birthday girl and prayed for her well-being. 

"Namaskar. Aaj meri choti behen Asha Bhosle ka janamdin hai. Main usko bahut badhaai aur aashirwad deti hun. Asha ek kamaal ki gaayika hai,versatile singer hai. Wo deerghayu ho,Ishwar usko aur uske pariwaar ko hamesha aur sukhi rakhe yehi meri manokaamana. (Today is my younger sister Asha Bhosle’s birthday. I am sending my warm wishes and blessings to her. Asha is a talented and versatile singer. I pray for Asha and her family members' well-being)," Lata wrote.

The Government of India bestowed Asha Bhosle with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000. She was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. The singing queen is the recipent of several Filmfare and National Film Awards.
