Arijit Singh's Mother Dies Due To Cerebral Stroke; Singer's Fans Mourn Her Demise
Arijit Singh's mother Aditi Singh succumbed to cerebral stroke on May 19. She was admitted to a hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.
Kolkata: Bollywood singer Arijit Singh’s mother Aditi Singh left for her heavenly abode on May 19 after suffering a cerebral stroke. She was 52. Aditi, was admitted to Kolkata’s Amri hospital in a critical condition after she tested positive for COVID-19. She tested negative for Coronavirus on May 17 but succumbed to cerebral stroke on Wednesday night.
Arijit’s fans offered their condolence to the grieving family on social media. Many Twitter users expressed their grief over the demise of the popular singer’s mother.

One of the fan pages tweeted, “A mother teaches everything, except to live without her. #ArijitSingh's mother passed away due to post COVID-19 complications. Let's not forget how Arijit cried while singing #Chunar at a concert remembering his mother. He loved his mother so much. May her soul rest in peace.”
“#ArijitSingh's mother, who had been admitted to a hospital after contracting #COVID19, passes away today in Kolkata. We keep her in our prayers,” another user wrote on the micro-blogging site.
"Extremely saddened to hear about #ArijitSingh's mother's death. May God give him immense strength to overcome this loss ," one fan tweeted.
Film director Srijit Mukherji, while talking to ABP News, said, "Arijit, I and other members from the industry tried hard to save her but we couldn’t. She passed away on Wednesday after suffering a cerebral (brain) stroke.”
Arijit's mother's funeral took place in Murshidabad on Thursday. Singh, who left everyone teary-eyed with 'Chunnar', had got emotional while singing the song from 'ABCD 2' at a concert in 2018. Here's the throwback video!
Arijit Singh, who is the recipient of a National Award, has crooned several hit songs including ‘Tum Hi Ho’, ‘Naina’, ‘Soch Na Sake’. He has been bestowed with six Filmfare Awards.
