An Action Hero trailer: Ayushmann Khurrana, Jaideep Ahlawat Clash In This Thriller

New Delhi: The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘An Action Hero’ was unveiled on Friday. In the film, Ayushmann plays Manav, an action hero who runs for his life as Bhura Solanki (Jaideep Ahlawat) wants to avenge his brother's mysterious death.
The over two-minute trailer starts with a face-off between Ayushmann's character, who is a star in films and a goon played by Jaideep Ahlawat. Jaideep's character is searching for another person, also a star, who happened to be murdered and Ayushmann is the key suspect. Later in the trailer, Ayushmann is seen doing some high-octane action stunts. The trailer is packed with twists and satirical humour.
The film is directed by Anirudh Iyer, who has previously worked as an assistant director on Aanand L Rai’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ and ‘Zero’. Neeraj Yadav has penned the screenplay.
The actor said the genre is new for him and is probably his first film without a social message. “It is a genre breaker for me. It is different from my staple genre of social-comedy and there is no message in it. There is pure thrill. It is a roller coaster ride. This film is about an extraordinary man in an ordinary situation. The emotion of revenge is an ordinary thing but if a superstar happens to be in that ordinary situation, how does he deal with it, is what the story is about” the actor was quoted as saying by PTI.
Jaideep Ahlawat said he loved the script of ‘An Action Hero’. “You will not be able to say who is a hero or villain. Everyone has their own reason to do things. I never thought of the character as a villain because he has strong reasons behind Ayushmann,” the actor was quoted as saying by PTI.
Produced by Aanand L. Rai and Bhushan Kumar, the film will release on December 2.
