New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' has been making waves ever since the Bollywood filmmaker announced the project. Alia Bhatt, who is playing the titular role in the much-awaited film, resumed the shoot for the night sequences in October 2020. The 'Kalank' actress reportedly wrapped up the sequences which couldn't be completed due to the Coronavirus lockdown.

The cast and crew of 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' have started shooting for a new schedule of the film from Saturday (December 26). Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram story to share a photo from the sets of the movie. The 'Gully Boy' actress can be seen sitting on a chair to get her make and hair done. Alia Bhatt Celebrates Christmas 2020 With Ranbir Kapoor

Alia and Ranbir's wedding has become the talk of the town ever since the 'Sanju' actor revealed in his interview that they would have got married if the pandemic didn't affect their lives. While Ranbir spoke about his marriage plans, Alia made it clear that she wants to focus on her career.

The two lovebirds celebrated Christmas 2020 along with other members of the Kapoor family. Alia and Ranbir were spotted at the annual Christmas lunch organised at Kunal Kapoor's house. The likes of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Taimur Ali Khan, Tara Sutaria, Aadar Jain, Anissa Malhotra and Armaan Jain attended the fun-filled celebrations. Alia's special 'Mrs Claus' hat hogged all the limelight as the actress looked adorable while donning it.

The film is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. The highly anticipated flick landed into legal trouble after Gangubai's son filed a case against Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He reportedly raised objections to the story of the movie, based on the life of Gangubai Kathiawadu.

The first hearing of the case took place on Tuesday (December 22) at the Bombay Civil Court. The defendants have been given time till January 7 to respond in the matter.

On the professional front, the star kid was last seen in 'Sadak 2', which received scathing reviews from the critics and fans. Alia also has 'RRR' and 'Brahmastra' in her kitty. Before resuming the shoot of 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', the 'SOTY' actress completed her schedule for SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'.
