It's AK Vs AK! Anil Kapoor & Anurag Kashyap's war of words on social media is hogging all the limelight.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who will be seen together in 'AK Vs AK', engaged in a Twitter banter on Sunday (December 6). It started when the 'Mr. India' star congratulated Shefali Shah starrer 'Delhi Crime' for winning the 'Best Drama Series' at the International Emmy Awards 2020. Anil Kapoor congratulated the entire team of the crime drama and expressed his excitement over Indian actors getting 'international recognition'. Congratulations to the #DelhiCrime team! Nice to finally see more of our people get international recognition. @ShefaliShah #WelcometoHollywood," the 63-year-old actor tweeted.
Anurag Kashyap responded to Kapoor's tweet and asked him about his Oscar. He wrote, "Nice to see some deserving people get international recognition. Waise, aapka Oscar kidhar hain? No? Achha... nomination?" Anil Kapoor shared a picture of him holding an Oscar along with the caption, "The closest you have come to an Oscar is watching Slumdog Millionaire win Oscars on TV. #TumseNaHoPayega." For the uninitiated, Kapoor starred in Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire', which won eight awards at the Oscars 2009.
The 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' director didn't take too long to respond to the 'Malang' star. "Says the k-k-k-ing of hand-me-down films. Weren’t you the second choice for this film also?," his tweet read. No prize for guessing that he was referring to the fact that Shah Rukh Khan was the first choice for the drama film.

Anil Kapoor & Anurag Kashyap's Twitter Banter

Anil and Anurag exchanged a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site. The 'Judaai' actor tweeted, "Hand-me-down or pick-me-up: I don’t care. Work is work. Tumhare jaise kaam dhoondte waqt baal toh nahi nochne padte" in response to Kashyap's post. The 'Black Friday' director took a dig at Anil Kapoor's 'hair' and wrote, "Sir, you don’t talk about hair. Aapko toh apne baal ke dum pe roles milte hain."
Anurag took another dig at the 'Fanney Khan' actor by mentioning 'Race 3', which failed to impress the critics.
Anil compared the box office collections of 'Race 3' and 'Bombay Velvet' in response to Kashyap's tweet. . He wrote, "Bombay velvet Box Office Returns = 43 Crores Race 3 Box Office Returns = 300 Crores."
Anurag and Anil's 'Twitter feud' left the fans scratching their heads. One user even commented, "Anurag babu. Chill. Give the man respect. He deserves it and secondly this twitter war you have started. He genuinely appreciated the #DelhiCrime, why did you get into argument with him. Uncalled for dude. You both are good artist.  Don't spread negative, please."
Anurag Kashyap and Anil Kapoor will be seen together in 'AK vs AK', which has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The film will premiere on Netflix. The official description for the movie reads, "After a public spat with a movie star, a disgraced director retaliates by kidnapping the actor’s daughter, filming the search for her in real time."
On the professional front, Anil Kapoor will be next seen in 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo'. The comedy drama co-starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani and Neetu Singh went on floors last month.
