Kannada Actress Arrested For Brother’s Murder; Body Found In Pieces In Different Parts Of Hubballi

New Delhi: Kannada actress Shanaya Katwe has been arrested by Hubballi Police on the charges of her brother Rakesh Katwe’s murder. The victim’s head was found in the forest of Devaragudihal, while the remaining parts of the dead body were found in Gadag Road and different parts of Hubballi. The Dharwad district police team has formed several teams to investigate the matter.
Based on reports, the actress was allegedly in a relationship with accused Niyazahemed Katigar. But as her 32-year-old brother opposed their relationship, Katigar allegedly planned to kill Rakesh Katwe. Reportedly, Shanaya Katwe visited Hubballi on April 9, 2021, to promote her film and on the same day her brother got murdered in their house.
Rakesh Katwe was allegedly strangled to death. The next day, Katigar and other accused Tousif Channapur, Altaf Mulla and Aman Giraniwale cut the body and threw away his body parts at different places in the city. Shanaya Katwe was arrested by the Hubballi Rural Police on Thursday and was sent to judicial custody.
Shanaya Katwe made her acting debut in the Kannada film industry with the Raghavanka Prabhu movie 'Idam Premam Jeevanam' in the year 2018. The actress was last seen starring in the 2021 movie 'Ondu Ghanteya Kathe', which is a comedy film directed by Raghava Dwarki.
