Golden Globe Awards 2023: 'Naatu Naatu' From SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Wins Best Original Song
'Naatu Naatu' from S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' won the Best Original Song, Motion Picture at the 80th Golden Globes.
New Delhi: SS Rajamouli has created history as the song 'Naatu Naatu' from his magnum opus epic drama 'RRR' starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr becomes the first ever Asian song to win the title of the Best Original Song in the Motion Picture category at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.
'Naatu Naatu' was in competition with 'Carolina' from "Where the Crawdads Sing", "Ciao Papa" from "Guillermo del Toro's "Pinocchio", "Hold My Hand" from "Top Gun: Maverick," "Lift Me Up" from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".
To receive the honour was music composer M. M. Keeravani, who was accompanied with his wife Srivalli.
He dedicated the award to Rajamouli and the actors Ram Charan and NTR Jr.
While accepting the award, he said: "Thank you very much for this prestigious award: "This award belongs to SS Rajamouli for his vision, I thank him for constantly believe and supporting my work. N.T. Rama Rao and Ram Charan who danced with full stamina."
The Golden Globe Awards also shared the winner's announcement on its official twitter handle. "The winner for Best Song - Motion Picture is @mmkeeravaani for their song "Naatu Naatu" featured in @rrrmovie! Congratulations!"

'Naatu Naatu' is also on the Oscars shortlist for the Original Song category award.
'RRR' stars NTR Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.
It centres around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, their fictional friendship and their fight against the British Raj.
Set in the 1920s, the plot explores the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity before they began the fight for their country.
Co-written by SS Rajamouli and his father V Vijayendra Prasad, 'RRR' released in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada on March 25, 2022.
'RRR' has already won accolades at the Saturn International awards, recognition from the Hollywood Critics Association and from the New York Critics Circle. The film has been championed by thousands of critics from across the world, especially in the US. The team of 'RRR' internationally has been campaigning for the film throughout the awards season with the film witnessing sold-out, full-house screenings across theatres in globe despite being released on streaming giant Netflix.
