Congress Leader Abhishek Singhvi Extends Support For Laal Singh Chaddha, Twitterati Say 'Aapke Gyan Ki Jarurat Nhi'

As Atul Kulkarni began trending on Twitter, fan clubs and users on the microblogging site retweeted Abhishek Singhvi's tweet which urged audiences to first see the film before passing any judgments.

New Delhi: The 'Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha' trend has gathered momentum once again this weekend close to its release on August 11, 2022. After some members of the Bollywood fraternity came out in support of the Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer, Congress leader and lawyer Abhishek Singhvi has come out in support of 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.

As Atul Kulkarni began trending on Twitter, many fan clubs and users on the microblogging site Twitter retweeted Abhishek Singhvi's tweet which urged audiences to first see the film before passing any judgments.

Abhishek Singhvi's tweet read, "Boycotting #LalSinghChaddha means you're not just boycotting Aamir Khan & Kareena Kapoor, you're also boycotting Atul Kulkarni & the hundreds of people associated with it. At Least see the film & decide whether it's good or bad instead of posturing on Twitter.``

Soon after the politician posted the tweet, the comments thread went ablaze with hate comments toward 'Laal SIngh Chaddha'.  A user wrote, "Are you going to be PR of all films or this job is for Amir Khan only," while another comment read, "Congress sambhal lo aap ...aur rahul Gandhi ko gyan do...janta samjhdar use aapke gyan ki jarurat nhi h..."

Atul Kulkarni who wrote the screenplay of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' has been trending on Twitter after his tweets from December 2013 went viral. In the screenshots that have been circulating on Twitter, we see Atul clearly stating that 'he is an atheist'. Adding fuel to fire, this tweet sparked another thread of controversy under the 'Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha' trend for religious reasons.

Atul who has also worked with Aamir on the cult favourite film 'Rang De Basanti' has also been trending because of an interview where he stated that Aamir Khan had initially refused to listen to the script of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' because Atul was not the original writer.

"...You are not a writer and you tell me you have written a Forrest Gump adaptation in 15 days. You are a close friend and I don’t want to disappoint you by saying you have written very badly’. That’s why he wasn’t listening to the script," Aamir Khan had told Atul when the latter had shared the script with him many years ago, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Regardless of the current Atul Kulkarni or Boycott Laal Singh Chadda trend, the film has been creating a massive buzz. Recently, on the 'Koffee With Karan Show' Karan Johar had quoted the industry buzz and stated that 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was a great film and that Aamir Khan has done it again.
