YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has moved the Supreme Court, requesting the consolidation of multiple FIRs filed against him over allegedly obscene remarks made during his guest appearance on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent.
After Allahbadia’s lawyer mentioned the matter before the bench, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna assured that the case would be scheduled for a hearing soon. If any changes are required, the lawyer should approach the registry.
Senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud presented the case before the bench headed by CJI Sanjiv Khanna, arguing that multiple FIRs have been filed for the same matter across different states. The CJI reiterated that the registry has already fixed a date for the hearing, and the case will be heard in a few days.
Ranveer Allahbadia's lawyer further informed the court that Assam Police is pressuring him to appear immediately in connection with a case registered in Guwahati. However, the CJI clarified that no relief could be granted through an oral mentioning. He advised that the petitioner should present his arguments when the case comes up for hearing.

During a recent episode, he allegedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question involving body parts and suggested an indecent act in exchange for ₹2 crore. FIR Filed Against Ranveer Allahbadia
Following the incident, a police complaint was lodged against Ranveer Allahbadia, along with co-judges Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR accuses them of promoting obscene and sexually explicit content on the show, invoking multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Critics slammed it as vulgar, leading to legal action.
Amid mounting criticism, Ranveer issued a public apology through a video statement, admitting his mistake. He stated, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context, justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology.”
