Tusshar Kapoor Says Industry Is 'Harsher' For Nepo Kids: 'When You Are Somebody’s Son Or Daughter...'

New Delhi: Actor Tusshar Kapoor, who will next be featured in ‘Dus June Ki Raat: Chapter 2’, has some wise words of wisdom for up-and-coming actors: "Be prepared for a challenging journey." In a recent interview, the actor shared that being a member of one of Bollywood's most famous families has been more challenging than most people would think.

Tusshar spoke about the challenges of being born into an acting family in an interview with SCREEN. He said, “When you are somebody’s son or daughter, then you better be strong and tough. No matter how many hits you give, there is an effort to pull you down or try to highlight what you haven’t done more than what you have done. If you are not from the film world, even with very little achievement, people say ‘Wow, what have you done!’"

Tusshar Kapoor Reflects on the Ups and Downs of His Career 

Tusshar said that while it could be simpler for those with family ties to get into the profession, maintaining a career is something different. “I want people to understand that it’s a fair level playing field for everyone. Getting a break is probably easier for film people because of the connections, but after that, it’s about your own connections, how you make the movie, how you are on screen, and what your marketability is. It’s definitely a bit harsher on insiders. We have to pass a number of tests to make people within the industry and otherwise believe that we are here because of our own talent. Audience doesn’t want to see these biases. They only want to get entertained,” the actor elaborated.

Tusshar reflected on his early professional setbacks and how they shaped him into the actor he is now. He said, "That cycle has to be there, it's a part of your journey which helps you grow. You just become stronger to do more work. If you can't handle the ups and downs, then this field is not for you."

On the work front, Tusshar Kapoor and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary feature in the upcoming comedy-thriller series ‘Dus June Ki Raat: Chapter 2’. Chapter two of the series, directed by Tabrez Khan, is available to watch on JioCinema.
