New Delhi: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, whose film ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ is currently running in theaters, recently shared a personal revelation about his spiritual journey during a period of uncertainty in his life. A follower of the Radha Soami faith, Shahid discussed his connection with this spiritual practice in a recent interview.

In a chat with Quint Neon, Shahid delved into the circumstances that led him to embrace the Radha Soami faith, shedding light on his quest for meaning and connection.

"It is my spiritual path. I always had a spiritual leaning. I always was very curious about life, about the source of life, about why we are here, what’s the point of it all, and I was very lost because I didn’t have any answers so I couldn’t make sense of anything," Shahid told Quint Neon.

Describing his affiliation with the Radha Soami path, Shahid revealed, "I follow the Radha Soami path. I really connected with it, and I think that helped me set context to everything. I think that helped me understand things much better, understand myself better. And I think, amongst other things, like being an actor and being a parent, and being a child, I am actually on the quest of finding myself and my relationship with God."

In a previous discussion with Mid-day, Shahid shared insights into his spiritual connection with his wife, Mira Rajput. He explained, "We do share a spiritual faith, but we met via family. We were aware of each other’s spiritual faith."

During the pandemic, the couple spent two years in Punjab, living with Mira's parents for a part of that time. Shahid reflected on this period, saying, "We went and lived in Punjab for two years, with them for a few months, and on our own during Covid. So, I spent a lot of time with them… Her side of the family is very normal, and that’s something I cherish about them."

This shared spiritual journey with Mira and the time spent with her family in Punjab contributed to the strengthening of their bond, emphasizing the importance of family values in their lives.

Shahid and Mira got married in 2015. They have two children – Misha, 7, and Zayn, 5.
