Suresh Oberoi Shares Vivek Oberoi Never Told Him About Aishwarya Rai: 'Most Of The Things I Didn’t Even Know'

Suresh Oberoi explained how he found out about his son Vivek's connection with Aishwarya Rai.

New Delhi: Bollywood insiders know everything about the connection between Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Following the actress's breakup with Salman Khan, rumours have it she started dating Vivek. They broke up in 2005 after a short-lived romance with 'Saathiya' actor. Subsequently, Aishwarya tied the knot with Abhishek Bachchan. Suresh Oberoi, actor and father of Vivek Oberoi, said in a recent interview that he knew nothing about the Vivek Oberoi-Aishwarya Rai-Salman Khan triangle. 

Suresh Oberoi was most recently seen in the film Animal. Sandeep Reddy Vanga cast Suresh in ‘Animal’, playing the role of Vijay's (played by Ranbir Kapoor) grandpa. The seasoned actor got a lot of praise for his performance. When speaking with Lehren Retro, the actor expressed his unawareness about his son Vivek Oberoi's romance with Aishwarya Rai.

According to Suresh Oberoi, he got to know about his son’s relationship with  Aishwarya Rai from director Ram Gopal Varma. He said, “Most of the things I didn’t even know. Vivek never told me. Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) told me. Before Ramu, somebody else told me. I had made him understand. Samjhaya tha mat karo (I had told him not to do).”

The actor went on to say that Salman Khan and his dad Salim Khan always welcome him with respect whenever they see him. He said, “Still, we all meet each other very nicely. Whenever Salman Khan meets me, he hides the cigarette and then talks to me with respect. I always tell Vivek to touch Salim Ji’s feet. I also respect Salim Bhai. Things happened, but my relationships are good enough.”

Vivek Oberoi married Priyanka Alva in 2010 and the couple now has two kids, Vivaan Veer and Ameya Nirvana. Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were married in 2007, and they have a daughter named Aaradhya.
