Shabana Azmi Talks About Her 'Friendly Bond' With Farhan And Zoya Akhtar, Says 'Credit Goes To Their Mom Honey Irani'

Shabana Azmi recently said that she doesn’t poke her nose in Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar's business.

New Delhi: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi discussed her relationship with Javed Akhtar's children from his previous marriage to Honey Irani, Farhan and Zoya. The actress said that her cordial connection with the children was owed to their mother. Honey and Javed Akhtar divorced in 1978 and the lyricists-screenwriter married Shabana in 1984. Shabana and Javed’s children get along well, and the family often attend parties together. 

Shabana Azmi recently spoke to Filmfare about how close she is to Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. She said, “We are very friendly. I have a great relationship with them based on friendship and trust. I value Farhan and Zoya very much and I think they value me. I think a lot of that credit goes to their mom Honey (Irani). I must say that she was very generous. If she had decided that the kids would not be friends with me, then they couldn’t have been friends with me."

She added that she doesn’t get into their business. “So, I have to accept in all honesty that I owe it to Honey that I have such a beautiful relationship not only with her children but also with her. We have a beautiful, happy bond. And I don’t poke my nose in their business. If I feel there is something they would rather not talk about, I do not talk about it,” Shabana said.

When it comes to her career, Shabana is among the most admired actors in the business. She will be seen in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which is set to premiere on July 28.
