Kangana Ranaut has reportedly sold her bungalow in Pali Hill, Bandra, Mumbai. According to a report by Zapkey, the actress recently sold the property for Rs 32 crore. Kangana originally bought the bungalow in September 2017 for Rs 20.7 crore and later took a Rs 27 crore loan from ICICI Bank against it in December 2022. The property had been used as the office for her production company, Manikarnika Films.
Kangana Ranaut sells her Pali Hill bungalow
Last month, a YouTube channel called Code Estate shared a video indicating that an office belonging to a production house was up for sale. Although the video didn’t disclose the name of the production house or its owner, the images and visuals strongly suggested that it was Kangana’s office. Many viewers also speculated in the comments that the property belonged to her.
The video description revealed that the bungalow includes the land it sits on, with a plot size of 285 square meters and a built-up area of 3,042 sq ft. Additionally, it offers a 500 sq ft parking area. The two-story building was listed at a price of Rs 40 crore.
The sale transaction was registered on September 5, 2024, with a stamp duty of ₹1.92 crore and a registration fee of ₹30,000. The buyer is Shweta Bathija, a partner at Kamalini Holdings, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, as per the documents.
This is the same property that came under scrutiny by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2020. In September of that year, the BMC partially demolished Kangana's office, citing illegal construction. However, the demolition was halted after a stay order from the Bombay High Court on September 9. Kangana later filed a lawsuit against the BMC, initially seeking Rs 2 crore in compensation, but she withdrew her claim in May 2023.
Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency'
Meanwhile, Kangana is also awaiting the release of her film 'Emergency'. Originally slated for release on September 6, the film has been delayed due to pending certification from the censor board. 'Emergency' has faced calls for a boycott and bans, with several Sikh organisations, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akal Takht, accusing the film of portraying the Sikh community in a negative light and demanding its immediate ban for allegedly "character assassinating" Sikhs.
