Kalki Koechlin Shares Her Unconventional Breakup Tactic: 'Sleep With Someone And Then Tell Him'

New Delhi: Actor Kalki Koechlin, known for her dynamic roles in Hindi films, recently gave fans a glimpse into her personal life during a recent interview. She revealed an amusing and unusual strategy she previously used to break up. The actress also discussed her past experience with polyamorous relationships.
In a conversation with Shenaz Treasurywala on Hauterrfly, Kalki was asked if she is a clean breakup person or if she goes back and forth. To which the actress replied, "I've had both kinds of relationships. I think it's definitely better to do the clean break but it's very hard. So, just be very sure when you want to break up.
“I also had another tactic when I was very young, which was to sleep with someone and then tell him. Then, he breaks up with me,” she said, adding a comical twist to the subject.
Kalki also shared her learning from past relationships and heartbreak. She said, "Life goes on. I've been through insomnia and terrible things because of heartbreak. You just feel like you're never going to get out of it."
Kalki Koechlin On Polyamory
In the same conversation, Kalki Koechlin discussed polyamorous relationships and how she just doesn't have the time for them right now. She elaborated, saying, “Now that I am married and have a kid, I don’t think I got time for that sh*t, because you just don’t even have time to see your own partner. But I think that it has happened in the past, and again, I think you have to be very specific about your rules and boundaries.”
In her discussion of polyamory, Kalki elaborated on the significance of boundaries, saying, “It means, perhaps it can’t be from your circle. I don’t think you can go as deep in a polyamorous relationship. Although I do know people who have managed to have a lifetime and have kids as well and do it. For me, it was a very different period in my life, I was much younger. I wasn’t interested in settling down, so it was okay. The idea was to be kind of each other’s main person but just also be like an experiment. I know people who have done but I don’t know if I would be able to be as invested in a long term.”

In the same interview, the actress also disclosed her marriage to Guy Hershberg, her boyfriend. In 2020, the happy couple gave birth to a daughter, Sappho. Her first marriage with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap ended in 2015.
