Bollywood actor Govinda got injured on Tuesday after he accidentally discharged his licensed pistol, resulting in a gunshot wound to his leg. The actor, who is also a Shiv Sena leader, was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.    

According to top sources in the Mumbai Police, there was confusion among family members regarding the weapon, as they were uncertain whether it was a revolver or a pistol. 

How Govinda got injured from his pistol

Police officials shared that the pistol was loaded at the time of the incident. The mishap occurred in the morning when Govinda was placing the firearm in his bag. The loaded gun accidentally fell from the bag and discharged, leading to an injury. It's reported that Govinda is the only person who uses the bag and keeps the pistol inside before heading out. Following the accident, Govinda sustained an injury to his leg, requiring a few stitches. 

Why Govinda was carrying a loaded gun in the house?

The Mumbai Police will not give Govinda a clean chit until the inquiry is complete. Authorities want to understand why the actor was carrying a loaded gun at his home.

Govinda's daughter, Tina, rushed into the room after hearing the gunshot. One of the household staff immediately called for help. Following the incident, Govinda himself contacted his brother, wife Sunita, and his manager to inform them of the situation. 

Govinda's statement after injury

Meanwhile, Govinda in a brief statement, reassured his fans, saying he is recovering well under the care of medical professionals. 

He said, “Namaskar, pranaam, main hoon Govinda, aap sab logon ke aashirwad aur maa-baap ka aashirwad, guru ki kripa ke wajah se goli lagi thi par woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyavad deta hoon yahan ke doctor ka, aadarniya doctor Agarwal ji ka aur aap sab logon ki prarthana jo hai, aap logon ka dhanyavad, pranaam (I am Govinda. Your blessings, the blessings of my parents, and the grace of my guru have helped me. I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I thank the doctors here and everyone for their prayers.
