Former Miss World Contestant Sherika De Armas Dies At 26 After Long Battle With Cancer

New Delhi: Sherika De Armas, a former Miss World contestant who represented Uruguay in 2015, passed away on October 13 after a battle with cervical cancer. According to the New York Post, she was receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She was 26. She died only two weeks after the diagnosis of an aggressive form of cervical cancer.
Sherika De Armas represented Uruguay at the Miss World competition in 2015. Although she did not make it to the top 30, she was one of only six 18-year-olds to compete that year.
Her family made the announcement of the contestant's death via her social media page with the caption, 'She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. Many fans and friends flocked to social media to mourn the death of the late contestant.
