New Delhi: Producer Boney Kapoor, who is currently busy promoting his production ‘Maidaan’, recently spoke about his daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s rumoured beau Shikhar Pahariya. Boney Kapoor said that his bond with Shikhar is beyond Janhvi and his romantic involvement as he shared a great rapport with him even during periods when Janhvi and Shikhar were not romantically linked.
During a conversation with Zoom, Boney expressed, “I love Shikhar,” and went on to elaborate, “In fact, a couple of years ago, Janhvi was not dating him, but I still maintained a friendly rapport with him.”
He also said that during the time Jnahvi and Shikhar were not seeing each other, Boney knew, “Shikhar could never be an ex.”
Despite neither of them officially acknowledging their relationship, Shikhar has been frequently spotted accompanying Janhvi to various events, forging a close bond with her family in the process. Commending Shikhar, Boney praised his knack for nurturing strong relationships within the entire family circle. “He’s always there. Whether it's for me, for Janhvi, or for Arjun, he extends his warmth to everyone. So, I believe we're fortunate to have someone like him in our fold.”
Recently, Boney was spotted at the Mumbai airport alongside Shikhar. He opted not to pose for photographs with him. Clarifying the situation, he remarked, “Perhaps he wanted me to enjoy the limelight, without it being overshadowed by his presence. Otherwise, the headlines might have focused on ‘Shikhar and Boney’ instead of just Boney.”
On her 27th birthday, which fell on March 6, Janhvi and Shikhar paid a visit to the Tirupati Balaji Temple, accompanied by influencer Orry.
Sequels of No Entry and Mr India
On the work front, Boney Kapoor also announced the sequels of ‘No Entry’ and ‘Mr India’. Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor will feature in the sequel of ‘No Entry’ with no original star cast.
"That chapter is over (of the old star cast). Now, we have Diljit, Varun and Arjun in the film. Varun and Arjun are best of friends, and Diljit is fantastic at comedy. So, I think this makes for a good and interesting combination," the producer told PTI.
The filmmaker-producer also said he is in talks with a Hollywood studio for 'Mr India 2'.
“That (‘Mr India 2’) also will happen, maybe as soon as ‘No Entry 2’ is out. I have been approached by a big Hollywood studio to do ‘Mr. India’. So, it’s Zee (Studios), me and the (Hollywood) studio,” he claimed.
