AR Rahman Shares Highlights Of Controversial Chennai Concert With Disabled Comments
AR Rahman shared a video of the Chennai show's highlights, days after his concert made news for poor mismanagement.
New Delhi: On Sunday, AR Rahman shared a "highlights" video from his Chennai concert Marakkuma Nenjam, which was criticised by fans for its shoddy organisation. Following the overcrowding that occurred during AR Rahman's performance in Chennai, the musician has found himself at the centre of controversy. The vast majority of concertgoers expressed dissatisfaction with their overall experience, and it was later discovered that tickets for the event had been sold illegally. Now, Rahman has posted some highlights from the event, and he captioned the post, "Chennai concert highlights!"
The video features AR Rahman performing live in front of a huge crowd. He performs on stage with a piano and tanpura. The video also has brief appearances from the other performers who shared the stage with Rahman.

The fact that he turned off comments on Instagram and X (previously Twitter) is what really got people's attention. This action was taken as a direct result of the severe backlash he and the concert's organisers faced as a result of the excessive mismanagement and sexual harassment that occurred during the event.
AR Rahman was criticised for his apparent lack of ‘sensitivity’ when he posted a happy video after the concert where many women claimed they were sexually assaulted.
On September 10th, AR Rahman performed at Adityaram Palace in Chennai. More than 45,000 people attended the concert, which was put up by ACTC Events. The original date for AR Rahman's performance was August 12. Unfortunately, bad weather forced organisers to call off the show at the last minute.
Many people's experiences during AR Rahman’s Chennai concert were negative. The Tambaram police opened an investigation after receiving reports of harassment and inadequate crowd management. A few days earlier, the organiser was arrested by police in Chennai for similar charges.
