Ballabgarh Incident: Hailing Nikita Tomar as a 'devi' Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has demanded a bravery award for her. Nikita was killed in a brazen shooting incident in Haryana on Monday.
Ballabgarh Incident: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has commented on the brazen shooting incident of Ballabgarh where a 21-year-old student Nikita Tomar was killed by an acquaintance allegedly in a love-jihad attempt. Kangana has hailed Nikita as a “devi” (goddess) and saluted her bravery for not giving in to the offer of the accused Touseef. She rooted for a bravery award for the woman.
“Nikita’s bravery is no less than Rani LaxmiBai or Padmavati, jihadi murder was obsessed with her he kept asking her to come with her if she wanted to live she could have given in to his lust she chose to die instead, Devi Nikita rose for every Hindu woman’s dignity and pride,” she tweeted.
She compared the incident to the age-old tradition of Jauhar. What she did is no less than the act of Jauhar, she chose to die. We shall never forget the sacrifice of Nikita. I urge the Centre to felicitate Devi Nikita with bravery award as Devi Neerja was felicitated, she said.
What happened in Ballabgarh shooting incident: The accused named Tauseef and his accomplice Rehan have been arrested by police as people of Faridabad displayed their outrage over the incident. Nikita Tomar, a final year B Com student was shot in broad daylight by Tauseef, as she was on her way home after taking an exam. The dramatic visuals of the incident were captured in CCTV. The visuals show the perpetrator getting out of the car and pulling out his revolver. The girl Nikita is seen trying to flee the situation and was able to dodge the assailant for a brief span but was nabbed by him, and was shot in point-blank range.
