Bad Boys Billionaires: SC Stays Release Of Netflix's Series Following Satyam Founder Ramalinga Raju's Objections

Directed by Dylan Mohan Gray with Francis Broadhurst and Reva Sharma serving as series producer, the investigative documentary series was scheduled for streaming on Netflix from September 2, 2020.

New Delhi: In a sudden turn of events, Netflix suspended the release of its upcoming documentary-series 'Bad Boys Billionaires: India' after the Supreme Court ordered the OTT platform to stay the streaming of the series following objections raised by Satyam Computer Services founder B. Netflix Docu-Series Highlights Rise And Fall Of Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi & Others Season 1 of the 'Bad Boy Billionaires: India' showcases the rise and downfall of India's four notorious industrialists -- Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Subrata Roy and Byrraju Ramalinga Raju--who are under scanner of the Government of India for various high-level money laundering and corruption charges. Directed by Dylan Mohan Gray with Francis Broadhurst and Reva Sharma serving as series producer, the investigative documentary series was scheduled for streaming on Netflix from September 2, 2020. However, B.Raju who was convicted in Satyam scam, sought orders to restrain the platform from releasing the documentary claiming that it would invade his privacy in an unlawful manner. As stated in the reports, Raju said that the narrative contained half-truths and palpably designed to bring down his reputation. Byrraju Ramalinga Raju had made to the headlines after his own admission of embezzling funds and falsifying revenues and margins of over Rs 5000 crore. Hearing the case, the bench issued a notice to Netflix Entertainment Services India and the nodal officer of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology to stay the streaming of the documentary series. As per the reports, the date of the next hearing on the case has been fixed as November 18.
