‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ Filming: Alia Bhatt Admitted To A Hospital In Mumbai

New Delhi: Alia Bhatt is one of the highest-paid actresses of this generation. The star kid started her career with Karan Johar’s movie ‘Student Of The Year’. However, she gained recognition for her work after she starred in Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Highway’ where she won the hearts of the audience and critics for her acting skills. Since then, there has been no stopping for the ‘Udta Punjab’ actress as she climbs the ladder of success.

Alia is currently busy wrapping up her shooting commitments for her upcoming movies that include ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Brahmastra’. Known for her utmost dedication towards work, the ‘Sadak 2’ actress lately resumed her shooting for her upcoming movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ after enjoying a short holiday during the New Year in Rajasthan.

However, according to a report by a leading entertainment portal, Alia Bhatt was hospitalized for a day on January 17, 2021, due to exhaustion. She stayed there for a day and soon after her discharge, Alia returned to the sets of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Alia Bhatt is back to work after her break in the month of December 2020 when she was in Ranthambore National Park. The actress resumed shooting earlier last week. But, due to exertion and exhaustion, on Sunday, January 17, she was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. After taking some rest and regaining strength, she was discharged on the very same day. Alia Bhatt, who is very professional, wants to complete her commitments, returned to the sets of Gangubai Kathiwadi on January 18, 2021.”

Also, according to a report by the same portal, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ will apparently release this year in Diwali.

The plot of the movie revolves around a young girl who has been sold to prostitution by her boyfriend. The story then evolves when she becomes the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura.

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was earlier titled ‘Heera Mandi’ with Priyanka Chopra illustrating the role of the protagonist. However, she was replaced by Alia Bhatt.

Other than Alia, this movie will also star Vijay Raaz, Shantanu Maheshwari and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.
