A non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Madhya Pradesh's Indore organised a clothing drive to "donate" clothes for actor Ranveer Singh after his photoshoot sparked outrage.
The locals are donating clothing into a box that has images of the actor from the photoshoot. They are gathered at a location where the NGO named "Neki Ki Deewar" held a cloth donation drive.
On Tuesday, Mumbai Police registered a case against Ranveer Singh under IPC sections 292,293,509 and It sec 67(A) after a complaint was submitted at the Chembur police station by an office-bearer of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), also based in the east Mumbai suburb.
The complainant stated the actor has hurt the sentiments of women and insulted their modesty through his photographs, the official said.
The complainant demanded the registration of a case against the actor under the Information Technology Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, after Swara Bhasker, Ram Gopal Verma has come out in support of Ranveer Singh. The director in an interview with ETimes said, "Think it’s his way of demanding justice for gender equality. If women can show off their sexy bodies why can’t men? It’s hypocritical that men are judged by a different standard. Men should have as many equal rights as women."
Ranveer Singh shared the pictures from his latest photoshoot on his Instagram.
