Poll of Exit Polls 2022: BJP Looks Set To Retain Uttar Pradesh, AAP Wave In Punjab

Poll of Exit Polls 2022: Four of the five states –Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Uttarakhand, Manipur – that went to the polls this year are currently ruled by the BJP while Congress governs Punjab.

New Delhi: Several exit polls have forecast a clear majority for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, albeit with a reduced number of seats, and the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.

In Uttarakhand, the exit polls have predicted a close fight, with the BJP marginally ahead but the Congress snapping at its heels.

ABP-CVoter Exit Polls Live Updates

An average of five exit polls have also predicted a tight race in Goa, with the BJP and Congress set to win seats below the majority mark of 21.

The BJP is set to win the most seats in Manipur and likely form the government for a second consecutive time, pollsters said.

Punjab

The exit polls have predicted a big win for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP in Punjab, with one exit poll on India Today projecting up to 76-90 seats in the 117-member assembly. TV9 Bharatvarsh-Polstrat, however, predicted 56-61 seats for the AAP in Punjab, making it the frontrunner. The ruling Congress was mostly predicted to be securing the second spot in Punjab.

The majority mark in Punjab is 69.

Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, both the Congress and the BJP were favoured by different exit polls to win the election.

News 24 Chanakya exit poll shows BJP and Congress competing tightly with BJP being marginally ahead in these elections. Matrize shows a projection of 31 seats to BJP and 35 seats to Congress with AAP securing 2 seats in the state.

The majority mark in Uttarakhand is 35.

Goa

Congress and BJP seem to be in tight competition in Goa as well. The Times Now exit poll projection shows 16 seats for Congress and 14 seats for BJP in Goa with AAP lingering at 4 seats. 

The majority mark in Goa is 21.

Manipur

As per Indian News- Jana Ki Baat exit poll projection, BJP may get 23-28 seats in Manipur with Congress and its allies securing 14-10 seats. Meanwhile, NPP can get 7-8 seats and NPF can get 5-8 seats.

The majority mark in Manipur is 31.

Uttar Pradesh

The largest state is showing the most interesting trends in exit polls as BJP seems to be winning the UP assembly polls with a majority again. The majority mark in UP is 202.

Exit polls on CNN News 18, Republic TV, and News X channels showed the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) getting 211-277 seats and its main challenger in the Samajwadi Party-led alliance getting anywhere between 119 and 160 seats in Uttar Pradesh. CNN News 18 predicted 262-277 seats for the BJP and allies and 119-134 for the SP and allies in the 403-member state assembly.
