Lok Sabha Elections 2019: The run for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 seems to have tough roads for the grand alliance in Bihar as a major rift has emerged between the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) possibly over the seat-sharing formula. As per ABP News sources, there has been dissatisfaction in the grand alliance as Congress is not willing to leave 'Darbhanga', 'Supaul' seats in the state. It is also reported that Senior Congress leader Ramdeo Rai has expressed concern with party’s leadership over the seat-sharing arrangement which was not in favour of the grand old party and also questioned the Congress’s decision to hold discussions on the seats it holds. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has called for a meeting with other Opposition parties at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday. It is also said that former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and leader of Opposition in state Tejaswi Yadav has cancelled three rallies which he was scheduled to attend today. As per Congress, the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat is crucial and final decision will be taken after proper discussions between the two parties. Last week the two parties had announced seat sharing agreement in Bihar for the upcoming General Elections. Both Congress and RJD are in alliance in the state under the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ umbrella along with some other parties. Elections to all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar will take place from 11 April onwards in which RJD will contest on 20 seats, Congress on 9, HAM on 3, RLSP on 5, VIP on 3 and CPI on 1 seat. The development comes a day after the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat which was represented by former test cricketer Kirti Azad who has recently quit the BJP and joined the Congress, emerged as the new bone of contention in the Mahagathbandhan. RJD, however, stated that it wished to field its veteran leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui from the seat.
