Himachal Pradesh Election: Tight Security Arrangements For Voting Today. 67 CAPF Companies, NDRF Deployed
Himachal Pradesh Election: The Election Commission said that out of 7881 polling stations, 798 are vulnerable and 397 are in the critical category.
Himachal Voting Today: Polling is being held in 68 assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. Special care has been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the voting process. Around 30,000 security personnel, including 67 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and over 11,500 state police personnel, have been deployed for peaceful polling in Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, around 50,000 government employees are on poll duty.
The Election Commission said that out of 7881 polling stations, 798 are categorised as vulnerable and 397 are deemed critical. Chask Bhatori of Bharmour Tribal Assembly Constituency in Chamba district is one such polling station, where the polling party had to walk 14 km to reach.
According to the Election Commission, this time there are 55,92,828 voters in Himachal. Out of the total eligible voters, 27,37,845 are women, 28,54,945 are men and 38 are third gender voters. 1.93 lakh electors are in the age group of 18-19 years.

Deployment Of NDRF & SDRF Teams
According to inputs, teams of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) have also been deployed with 800 personnel to deal with any emergency. According to the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, the State Disaster Management Plan has been prepared along with the plans for District Disaster Management.
The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has deployed teams of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), comprising 50 personnel in tribal-dominated Lahaul and Spiti, and Chamba districts each. Apart from this, ten personnel of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed at the district headquarters of Chamba and Pangi. 10 NDRF personnel have also been deployed at Lahaul-Spiti, Kaza, and Udaipur district headquarters each.
The state government has declared a public holiday today for employees of government offices, boards, corporations, educational institutions, and industrial establishments in Himachal Pradesh for polling. The counting of votes in the hill state will take place on December 8.
