'Congress Will Form Govt In Haryana': Kumari Selja Says As Trends Shows BJP Ahead On 46 Seats

This not out hope, but belief that we will get 60 plus in Haryana Assembly elections, Kumari Selja said.

Congress MP Kumari Selja on Tuesday morning said that Congress Party is confident of forming the government in Haryana. Even as early trends showed a big lead for Congress on 65 seats in Haryana, the trend seemed to have reversed with an hour with now BJP leading in 49 seats and Congress ahead on 37 seats in Haryana.

Kumari Selja while speaking on the counting trends said that it is too early to say anything but she is confident that the Congress party will form government in Haryana. While speaking on a neck to neck fight, Kumari Selja said counting is not like Sensex, and "As the counting progresses, Congress party will form the government and we will win more than sixty assembly seats..."

This not out hope, but belief that we will get 60 plus in Haryana Assembly elections, Kumari Selja said.

Sirsa MP Kumari Selja on Monday had said the party high command would take a final call on the chief ministerial pick that would be acceptable to all.

Keeping the race for CM post open ahead of the assembly poll results, the senior Congress leader said the party high command would take the views of the MLAs and then take a final decision in the interest of the party.

When asked about the chief ministerial candidature, Selja said, The CLP meeting takes place and the views of MLAs are taken, but the high command takes the final decision (on CM candidate) and that is the tradition in the party.

Retirating that the Congress will get over 60 seats, she added that the anti-incumbency of the BJP is palpable, as people are so highly disillusioned that they wanted the saffron party out.
