Hardik Patel is contesting the assembly elections for the first time in 2022. He is contesting from the Viramgam constituency in Ahmedabad. Hardik Patel rose to fame as a firebrand leader during the Patidar reservation protests in 2015. Soon after gaining a significant political presence, Hardik joined the Indian National Congress prior to the 2019 Loksabha elections. He was later appointed as the the president of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee. However, he left Congress in May 2022 and joined the BJP.
